The motive of celebrating colour days is to make the children aware of the different colours and to develop the fine motor skills via craft activities and colour plays. Early identification of colours helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words which is an important part of a child’s holistic development. Have a Colourful Week!

We are truly honored and excited that our Head of School will be one of the keynote speakers at the NSLA conference this year. She will be talking about one of the most critical components of academic achievement…sharing tips, strategies and resources to guide the children in our schools. Her keynote will be covering the big picture of why Librarians Matter.
Presentation Summary: It is being contended that while school librarians are often enthusiastic to collaborate with classroom teacher colleagues in areas such as literacy learning and related reading engagement, there is concern that a majority of the teaching community do not understand what school librarians have to offer in this capacity, and that the school librarians may be seen as an unaffordable luxury. To this end, this presentation will document the roles of a school librarians to enable educators and school leadership to understand how school librarians can support students’ learning and academic performance.
As some of the hardest-working people in society today, teachers are responsible for the educational development of the next generation, and it’s important to thank these hardworking men and women with recognition of their efforts. Awards for “best teacher” at the end of the year are appreciated, but a “thank you” in the form of a Teachers’ Day luncheon is a terrific way to offer teachers encouragement for the amazing work they do for our children.
Teachers change the lives of millions of children every day—and in a year where instruction could be virtual, in-person or a mix of both, their immense work and impact have provided a much-needed sense of community and connection. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, educators across Nigeria are working hard to ensure every child has the tools they need to reach their full potential.
This year will be one for the history books. So let’s celebrate the good memories we’ve made in our school, and the way our teachers have gone above and beyond. The luncheon’s main meal consists of Chinese beef fried rice, spicy grilled chicken, fried plantain, vegetable salad and Chapman mocktail prepared by MayzMeals n More. Thank you Mayjay for setting this all up.
Dear HH teachers, we value the work you do in our community. Thank You!
New technologies and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic are radically transforming learning platforms and jobs. Digital literacy is essential to thrive in this twenty-first-century reality. But 2.2 billion people below the age of 25 do not have internet access at home, with girls more likely to be cut off. In low- and middle-income countries, just 54 per cent of women access mobile internet. The gender digital divide is about more than connectivity. Girls are also less likely than boys to use and own devices, and gain access to tech-related skills and jobs. Only by addressing the inequity and exclusion that span geographies and generations can we usher in a digital revolution for all, with all.
Girls know their digital realities and the solutions they need to pave paths to freedom of expression, joy and boundless potential. Together, let’s widen these pathways so that this generation of girls can become a generation of technologists.
Competition Details:
Share stories, pictures and videos of inspiring adolescent girls who are tech trailblazers in their own right in Delta State. These technologists should embody the hope of change possible if we only invest more in girl- and young-women-designed learning solutions fit for their digital world.
The objective of the competition:
1. Encourage innovative ideas and design thinking amongst the girls and young women on shaping a better digital future for Delta State.
2. Generate more interests of the female students towards ICT
Entries should be sent to jugsummit@yahoo.com by the 10th of October, 2021. Winners will be announced on 11 October 2021: The International Day of the Girl-Child. Entry to this competition is open to all Delta state residents between the ages of 6 and 18.
What a great turn out at Open House today! It was so nice to meet several new families and of course see many of the returning parents! We enjoyed seeing you again and having the opportunity to share the learning that goes on in our classrooms. We hope that it was informative, as well as fun (as all learning should be!) for you! Thank you all for attending our Open House.
Everyone is born unique – we all possess traits that set us apart and these traits define who we are and how we respond to situations. To enhance ourselves we only need to spot and elevate that, possibly yet dormant inclination or aptitude. This is where personality development becomes essential in the modern professional world. On Thursday, 9th September, 2021, teachers in Asaba, Delta State, attended a workshop on Professional Etiquette facilitated by Teacher Dumebi, Head of School, Hadassah Hall.
She started by stating that good etiquettes is one way you can help collectively tip the scale back in the direction of people being nicer to each other. Through etiquettes a teacher can weave an intricate social web to dignify the profession. Whether you are starting your first teaching role or have many years of professional experience under your belt, how you present yourself to others in the school matters. Setting a professional tone is crucial to building new relationships and ensuring you have a positive, successful experience in school.
Teacher Dumebi elaborated on learning virtues and values such as empathy and kindness, and developing emotional intelligence because they are equally as important as the lessons that we teach, in order for children to understand themselves, their connection to others and to the world. Teachers must be circumspect about etiquette/manners and pleasantries. These too make for a happy countenance. An activity was conducted where each teacher had to name a personality that they idolised and share two attributes that they like about them and how much of these have they ingrained. It was a lively interactive session that prompted participants to stop short and revisit themselves, as it were, to see where they can work on improvements. Above all we must continuously remind ourselves that we are role models for the children in our care and need to present our best. In conclusion, for emotional intelligence to be effective, it has to start with yourself. You can’t distill or enhance other people’s well-being, improvement and sense of self without first understanding how you operate on an emotional level. What distinguishes leaders is usually their level of emotional intelligence and it is those skills which help to develop a more effective workplace.
Thank You for enrolling your children in our Summer Twist! It came to an end too quickly! We had a fabulous group of kids and we really didn’t want the magic of summer to end! We made many new friends and the countless smiles from our Twisters kept us going strong all summer long. As I pause to reflect on it all, my heart is full of gratitude for our staff, our Twisters and particularly for you, our Summer Twist parents who have entrusted your children to us.
To our dynamic staff who worked tirelessly all month long to provide your children with an incredible summer experience – thank you! As each day brought new challenges and successes, they were energized, they were exhausted, they were inspiring and they were inspired. They are a terrific group and I am grateful for each one’s dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm. To our Twisters who showed up every morning with a zest for life and who are the reason we do what we do – thank you! These children were engaged and engaging, open to trying new things and ready to get down and dirty. They worked hard, but also PLAYED HARD and engaged in several fun activities such as art and crafts, spelling bee, STEM activities, board games, puzzles, music, dance, cookery, story time, and movie time! They got to work on their creativity, try out new activities they normally aren’t exposed to back home, learn lifetime people skills that will give them an advantage later on in their adult career, and of course – have fun!
